Certification and Accreditation

The Nutreco Canada Shur-Gain Laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified. It has been accredited since 1998 and retains the accreditation following regular audits by Standards Council of Canada personnel. This accreditation is specific to laboratories. In order to maintain this accreditation our laboratory needs to fulfill a set of strict requirements that cover all activities including: staff training, sample handling and, use of validated and proven testing methods.

The Laboratory has retained a certification by NFTA (National Forage Testing Association) since 1996 by participating yearly in their proficiency testing program and has consistently achieved top ratings. 

In 2011, we obtained the status of certified Laboratory for referee analysis of soybean meal according to NOPA trading rules. We are the only Canadian laboratory to have achieved this status.

AACC: Testing of vitamins, sugars, minerals and dietary fiber

FAPAS: Cholesterol
CFIA: Microbiological analysis of foods and feeds 

 


2) Internal Quality Assurance

We have a comprehensive internal quality assurance program. It includes all testing activities and enables us to produce consistently precise results.



3) Training Programs

Our staff proficiency is regularly monitored by testing of reference material and internal control samples. Every staff member performing analytical testing has to follow a rigorous and structured training.  Regular internal audits ensure that both programs are strictly followed.

 

Confidentiality

Our laboratory uses a Laboratory Management system for handling of all customers’ data to ensure that it remains highly confidential.
